Third Annual Tour de Flash Cycling Event - VIRTUAL
Honoring the Life of Bill “Flash” Gordon
Benefiting the National Kidney Foundation Serving Central Ohio
Due to the pandemic and safety of our riders, this year our 3rd Annual Tour de Flash will be held virtually. All riders will have the opportunity to ride in support of Tour de Flash from Friday, September 25th until Friday, October 2nd. You pick the day and time to complete your ride.
Join us on Friday, September 25th at 6PM for our Virtual Happy Hour Opening Ceremony! We’re asking all riders to wear their favorite jersey. We’ll have some great prizes to announce along with a scavenger hunt to participate in. A link will be provided the day before to all registered riders.
What is a virtual ride?
You get to determine the distance and where you want to ride. You can ride in your neighborhood, at a park or on one of our marked routes.
Is there a route available?
Yes, we will have the same routes as last year available and marked. Those routes will be marked and ready by September 25th.
Do I need to register?
Yes, all riders will need to register. The registration cost go toward the National Kidney Foundation as a donation and tax-deductible.
Our annual ride honors the life of Bill Gordon, a leader in the Columbus cycling community, and supports the National Kidney Foundation Serving Central Ohio by raising awareness of kidney disease and the importance of organ donation. Bill was an organ and tissue donor.
“CONNECT by Listening, INSPIRE by caring, CREATE by taking action”
-Bill “Flash” Gordon
Bill Gordon lived his life by these words. His lifetime love of cycling and helping other people to become their best self, inspired his friends and family to create this annual event. Bill lived his life in service to others and continually worked to improve himself and to understand the world around him. As the Events Director for Columbus Outdoor Pursuits, he led bicycling activities throughout Ohio, including The Tour of the Scioto River Valley (TOSRV) and The Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA). Bill felt strongly about living a life of purpose that had a positive impact on others. Bill knew that cycling brings people together and creates a community that supports a healthy lifestyle. With this ride we hope to share Bill’s love of cycling: the adventure, the friendships, and the scenic routes. Join us…
