Welcome to my Team Kidney fundraising page for the 2020 TCS NYC Marathon!
As most of you know, I unfortunately lost my father to a long battle against kidney disease. For those who were lucky enough to have known him, knew what an amazing person he was- a wildly intelligent goofball with the biggest heart, which he opened up to everyone and anyone.
Now I know Dad would call me crazy, but I will be running these 26.2 miles not only for my father, but for the millions of Americans living with kidney disease, and for their family and friends who love and support them.
The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is leading the fight against kidney disease and I am honored to join them in bringing awareness to this disease and to the work they do to help the 73 million Americans at risk and the 26 million living with chronic kidney disease.
Did you know that 1 in 3 American adults are at risk for kidney disease? Major risk factors include diabetes, high blood pressure, a family history of kidney failure and being age 60 or older. Kidney disease often has no symptoms, and it can go undetected until very advanced. But a simple test can tell you if you have kidney disease.
I hope you can join us by making a donation! Every dollar counts and would be greatly appreciated by myself, my father and everyone who has ever been affected by this disease.
