I’m challenging myself on and off the course to help raise funds to support the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) and the work they do to help the millions of Americans at risk for kidney disease and the 37 million Americans living with chronic kidney disease.

Did you know that 1 in 3 American adults are at risk for kidney disease? Major risk factors include a family history of kidney failure, diabetes, high blood pressure and age (over 60). Kidney disease often has no symptoms, and it can go undetected until it has reached an advanced stage but a simple test can determine if you have the disease.

My family’s personal journey with the disease began on June 3, 2011, the day my father’s kidneys failed. Throughout the night he had to undergo emergency medical procedures to prepare him for dialysis, a temporary life-extending treatment.

On August 25, 2018, my dad had a kidney transplant. Thanks to the generosity of the donor and the excellent medical team, my dad was given a new beginning in life. Three years later, I am happy to report that he has been able to resume most activities and is living a happy, healthy, and peaceful life.

Not only do I run for my family, but I also run for the millions of other families impacted by kidney disease. NKF is leading the fight and I am excited to join the team. Will you join us by making a donation or challenging yourself too?

Every dollar counts, and I would be grateful for your support!

Thank you!
