I’m using one of the milestones in my life to raise funds to support the National Kidney Foundation and the work they do to help the 73 million Americans at risk for kidney disease, the 30 million Americans living with chronic kidney disease, and those who care for and about them.
Did you know that 1 in 3 American adults are at risk for kidney disease? At 36 weeks gestation Max was diagnosed with hydronephrosis; at 4 months it was confirmed Max had bilateral hydronephrosis which was caused by Vesicoureteral Reflux (backward flow of urine from the bladder to the kidneys). He has had several surgeries to try and correct the issue. Throughout this process we have had many ups and downs, however, we are ecstatic to say Max has been UTI free for over a year. We cannot thank Max's amazing doctors and nurses at Nicklaus Children's Hospital (Dr. Gonsalbez, Dr. Paredes, and Megan Sauls Daniel) enough!!! Kidney disease often has no symptoms, and it can go undetected until very advanced. But a simple test can tell you if you have kidney disease.
I’m donating my celebration to ensure those who are facing kidney disease will reach more of their own milestones.
Each donation is meaningful, and I would be grateful for your support to help fight kidney disease!
