Welcome to Steve's Transplantiversary Fundraising Page!
Fifteen years ago, my dad was using a machine to keep his body functioning properly. You see, without fully functioning kidneys, your body can't remove your waste (i.e. pee...sorry dad, for the TMI) so you have to rely on a machine to do that for you externally - three times a day, every single day. Essentially, dialysis kept him alive.
And then came a spiritually-wrapped, amazing gift. One picked out specially for my dad. A kidney, on June 9, 2003, from a selfless person who chose to be an organ donor.
Because of this, I’m committed to raising funds to support the National Kidney Foundation and the work we do to help the 73 million Americans at risk for kidney disease, the 30 million Americans living with chronic kidney disease, and those who care for and about them.
In true fashion, I want to reach a goal of the most money EVERraised for a Transplantiversary campaign and I need your help to get me there! While my dad reached his 15-year milestone, there are many who are facing kidney disease that may not. Help us to celebrate his life while allowing more to reach their own milestones.
Each donation is meaningful to the NKF, myself and my family, and I am grateful for your support.
Thank you, and let's fight kidney disease together!
