One in three American adults is at risk for developing kidney disease, a dangerous and life-threatening illness, which can both lead to and be caused by cancer. This hits close to home for us at Kelley Sammons Toole & Ellison as one of our partners, Jimmy Ellison, is currently battling kidney cancer. Also, one of his long-standing clients, Don Sutton, recently lost his long battle with this disease. We created this campaign in their honor.
The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) has launched the "Are You the 33%" public awareness campaign focusing on early detection for the adults in the U.S. at risk for developing kidney disease, as it often has no symptoms and can go undetected until it is very advanced. A simple test can tell you if you have the disease, and is especially important for those with major risk factors including diabetes, high blood pressure, a family history of kidney failure, and even being over 60 years of age.
The funds we raise will go directly to NKF and help to provide early detection screenings as well as vital patient and community services to our local community. Your gift will make a difference in the lives of the nearly 30 million Americans who are currently living with kidney disease and the 73 million more who are at risk.
Please consider a minimum donation of $25. Our firm will be making a $10,000 donation.
Thank you for joining us as we honor Jimmy and Don by spreading awareness and supporting NKF!
